Laura Hernandez Smith serves as Vice President at ROKK, bringing nearly a decade of experience in U.S. Congress, most notably as communications director for a senior member of the House Appropriations Committee and co-chair of the Congressional Hispanic Conference. There she led communications and crisis strategy, managed local, national and international media relations, and translated complex issues into clear content in English and Spanish. Laura also led multicultural communications campaigns for a Fortune 100 F&B company, helping the brand reach Hispanic communities through purpose-driven initiatives and earned-first media relations.
At ROKK, Laura leads crisis and strategic communications for a portfolio of clients that includes a Fortune 100 technology company and several of the firm’s Hispanic-serving clients, guiding them through high-stakes litigation and crisis communications in both English and Spanish.
Laura was born in Havana, Cuba, and moved to the United States at nine. She grew up in Miami, where she earned her bachelor’s degree and a master’s in public administration. She also holds a certificate in Public Policy from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
