Michaela (Mickey) Sundermann has a decade of Hill, campaign and agency experience. At ROKK, she helps Fortune 500 companies enact policy change through coalition building, executive engagement and strategic communications. She’s passionate about bringing the best political communication tactics to the private sector to ensure her clients win the day inside and outside of the Beltway.
Mickey served as the Communications Director to Senator Chuck Grassley’s (R-IA) reelection campaign and has extensive communications experience working for both House and Senate Republicans. This includes serving as the committee press secretary for House Armed Services and Homeland Security Committees, digital director for the office of Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) and digital director for Senator Josh Hawley’s election campaign.
She has had clients featured in the Wall Street Journal, Washington Post and Associated Press, and clients appear on NPR’s “Morning Edition,” “The Way I Heard It” and C-SPAN. Mickey has also successfully managed the book launches and media tours for two New York Times bestsellers.
Mickey earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations from Iowa State University. Loyal. Forever. True.

Mickey’s favorite person in the world is her one-year-old nephew Weston. She became an Aunt for the first time in 2022 while working back home in Iowa and spent eight months within driving distance of her nephew and his parents.
