EXPANDING BROADBAND ACCESS NATIONWIDE.

As part of President Biden’s infrastructure package, Congress was taking action to bridge the digital divide. However, some of the policies fell short and would be counterproductive to improving connectivity for some Americans.

COALITION ACTIVATION & STAKEHOLDER MAPPING.

The coalition, backed by leading companies, trade associations and non-profit groups, needed to persuade lawmakers from over 20 states to expand broadband to unserved and underserved areas, ensure permanent funding to connect low-income households and be fair to and inclusive of all communities.

CUSTOMIZED & INTEGRATED AMPLIFICATION.

We developed an integrated communications strategy using digital advertisements, earned media, social media and thought leadership. We ensured the campaign’s imagery and messaging were tailored for each respective coalition, target member and their constituency.

Our media education campaign quickly built new relationships with top tier reporters who had ties to the veteran community. The campaign served to elevate the organization as a go-to source for veterans in need and created a domino effect of media interest in the new CEO’s expertise. The news hooks ROKK leveraged helped further elevate the new CEO as a thought leader, reinforcing the organization’s standing as a top Veteran Service Organization (VSO) and trusted partner for policymakers. A top senator worked with the organization to present legislation on one of its top priorities, and the CEO has become regular on a major news network.

Individuals and businesses from all over the world shared stories of how extreme visa delays prevent them from seeing loved ones and gaining and retaining international customers. This campaign highlighted how that outdated visa process has an economic impact in addition to the emotional toll.
